Dakhla Proclaimed City of Peace and Tolerance in 2022 

The city of Dakhla has been proclaimed city of peace and tolerance under 2022, announced last Friday, president of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP), Ahmad Bin Mohammed Al-Jarwan.

Speaking at the closing session of the 10th Global Parliament for Tolerance and Peace, Al-Jarwan said that the holding in Dakhla of this event comes to emphasize the need for joint international action and parliamentary cooperation at different levels, with a view to promoting the culture of tolerance, peace, friendship, brotherhood and peaceful coexistence in different communities around the world, noting that meeting the basic needs of all the peoples of the world is a prerequisite for stability, development and peace.

He also called on the Global Parliament for Tolerance and Peace to urgently form a team of MPs specialized in developing recommendations on global food security, whose mission is to establish communication links with the institutions of the international community to ensure the needs of countries most impacted by political and economic crises.

Al-Jarwan also highlighted the role of international organizations, educational institutions and peace lovers in the world in the enshrining of the noble humanitarian goals, noting that time is ripe to unify the efforts of these bodies, with a view to entrench the culture of tolerance and peace in the programs of these organizations and educational programs around the world.

Furthermore, he noted that the Master in Tolerance and Peace, launched by the General Assembly of the Council, is of particular importance since it will contribute to establishing a safer and more tolerant future for current and future generations.
