The twinning contract between Morocco and Greece, Poland and Italy, member countries of the European Union is a "successful" partnership in the competition law and economy, President of the Competition Council, Ahmed Rahhou, said Tuesday in Rabat.

Thanks to the efforts of the various parties, this project has developed a large database of case-laws, redesigned the website and aligned procedures and regulations, Rahhou underlined at the closing ceremony of this contract.

The Morocco-EU institutional twinning contract also provided thirteen training courses for rapporteurs and two others for magistrates, he recalled.

For her part, EU ambassador to Morocco, Patricia Llombart Cussac, noted that this contract is an mutually enriching experience as part of the sharing of good practices.

Competition law seems to be an abstract legal concept, but in reality it is central in the construction of large European markets and any market that aspires to be attractive for its companies and foreign investments.

This meeting was an opportunity to present the main achievements of this successful project, in particular in terms of training of the Competition Council's magistrates and rapporteurs, as well as to discuss with important stakeholders in the competitive ecosystem, notably universities, press and legal consultancies.

The closing ceremony of the Morocco-EU institutional twinning was attended by several ambassadors accredited in Rabat.
