American Actress Voices Solidarity With Palestinians In Face Of Deadly Israeli Onslaught

A well-known US actress on Monday voiced deep solidarity and sympathy with the plight of the Palestinian people as they suffer from Israel's deadly onslaught on the Gaza Strip.

Marcia Cross, best known for her work on the popular TV series Desperate Housewives, posted on Instagram wondering how some people can remain indifferent or silent over what the Palestinian people are going through now.

"I'm struggling to comprehend how to live among people with eyes that don't water, hearts that don't flinch, and voices that remain silent," said Cross with emojis of a broken heart and the flag of Palestine.

"There are no words for the horror that has and is being unleashed. And the silence has me believing I am deaf," the post added.

Since the start of Israel's devastating onslaught against Gaza, rallies have been taking place in many US states and worldwide demanding a cease-fire and objecting to US support for Israel's deadly onslaught on Gaza.

Since a cross-border incursion by the Palestinian group Hamas on Oct. 7, killing some 1,200 people, the Israeli offensive into Gaza has killed more than 28,400 people and caused mass destruction and shortages of necessities.

The Israeli war on Gaza has pushed 85% of the territory's population into internal displacement amid acute shortages of food, clean water and medicine, while 60% of the enclave's infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed, according to the UN.

Israel stands accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice, which in an interim ruling in January ordered Tel Aviv to stop genocidal acts and take measures to guarantee that humanitarian assistance is provided to civilians in Gaza.
