Morocco's Measures to Curb Inflation are Starting to Bear Fruit

The measures taken by the government to curb inflation are beginning to bear fruit, said, on Thursday, Minister Delegate for Relations with Parliament and Government Spokesman, Mustapha Baïtas.

In response to a question on government measures to curb inflation during a press briefing at the end of the weekly meeting of the Council of Government, Baïtas said that these measures were numerous and mainly concerned the medical coverage project.

He pointed out that the number of beneficiaries of the "AMO Tadamon" scheme had reached 11.4 million, while the direct social assistance project benefited 2.6 million households, in addition to the mobilization of a budget of 16 billion dirhams to support the Compensation Fund for the 2024 financial year.

The government's interventions also cover housing assistance, expenses arising from social dialogue, the stability of electricity costs and support for transport professionals with a monthly envelope of almost 2.7 billion dirhams, added Baïtas.
