15th OIC Summit: Morocco Takes Part in FMs’ Meeting in Banjul

The meeting of Foreign Ministers from member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) kicked off on Thursday in Banjul, Gambia, ahead of the 15th Islamic Summit scheduled for May 4-5 under the theme « Enhancing Unity and Solidarity Through Dialogue For Sustainable Development. »

Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, is chairing the Moroccan delegation taking part in this two-day meeting, at the end of which OIC Foreign Ministers will examine the report and final declaration to be submitted for approval to the 15th Summit Conference, to be attended by the leaders and heads of government of OIC countries.

The ministerial meeting, which is being held at the "Dauda Kairaba Diawara" International Conference Center, was preceded on Tuesday and Wednesday by a preparatory meeting of senior officials from the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

The 15th OIC Summit, which opens on Saturday, will discuss political issues of interest to the Islamic world, including the Palestinian question.

Member state leaders will also discuss economic, humanitarian, social and cultural issues, including youth, women, the family, science, technology, the media and Muslim communities.
