Morocco received record 1.3 million tourists in April 2024, up 17% on the same month last year, according to the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy.
This remarkable growth testifies to a positive dynamic that is gaining strength, and concerns both foreign tourists, up 15%, and Moroccans expatriates, up 20%, the Ministry said in a press release.
In the first four months of 2024, Morocco recorded 4.6 million arrivals at border crossings, up 14% on the end of April 2023, representing 567,000 additional arrivals, the same source said.
Foreign tourist arrivals were a major driver of this growth, increasing by 15% compared to the end of April 2023, representing around 340,000 additional foreign tourists. They accounted for 56% of total arrivals, up one point on the previous year.
