Zambia Economic Promotion Week Launched in Morocco

The Zambia Economic Promotion Week commenced on Thursday in Rabat, with the goal of showcasing Zambia's economic potential in Morocco across various sectors.

The event's agenda includes meetings in Rabat, Casablanca, and Laayoune between a Zambian economic delegation and Moroccan public institutions, private economic operators, the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), and sectoral federations. These interactions aim to develop win-win business partnerships between Moroccan and Zambian enterprises.

Scheduled activities feature discussions with the Professional Association of Moroccan Banks (GPBM), Casablanca Finance City (CFC) and its business ecosystem, and the Regional Investment Center (CRI) of Laayoune.

This initiative is part of broader efforts by Morocco's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Living Abroad to bolster the country’s economic diplomacy within Africa. The Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation (AMCI), alongside partners like CGEM, GPBM, CFC, and the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE), plays a crucial role in these endeavors.

An AMCI statement emphasized the initiative's aim to foster collaborative and mutually beneficial business ventures. The launch event featured a meeting between AMCI Director General Mohamed Methqal and a high-profile Zambian delegation visiting Morocco from June 20 to 28. The meeting, held at AMCI headquarters, also saw the participation of the Chargé d'Affaires from the Embassy of the Republic of Zambia in Rabat.

The Zambian delegation, led by Albert Halwampa, Director General of the Zambia Development Agency (ZDA), includes Anthony Kabaghe, President of the Zambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ZACCI), along with senior officials from Zambia's public and private sectors.
