Economic actors discuss co-investments between Basque and Morocco

The General Federation of Moroccan Enterprises met yesterday in Casablanca a delegation of economic actors from Basque where they discussed the joint investments between the two countries.

The meeting was an opportunity for both parties to discuss the possibilities of building a partnership based on the principles of ‘win-win’ and sustainability between the private sectors in Morocco and the Basque country.

The participants in the meeting also discussed the investment opportunities in the southern regions of Morocco, in sectors such as agricultural industry, fishing, and renewal energy, As well as the guaranteeing means of exchange the experiences.

According to the Moroccan news agency MAP, The president of The General Federation of Moroccan Enterprises, Shakib Alj noted that this visit testifies to the strength and depth of the relationship and the strong and resilient historical ties between Morocco and Spain.

Morocco has conducted for two decades, a comprehensive transformation that has led to the consolidation of its institutional and macroeconomic framework, a massive development of infrastructure, industrialization, and employment through the implementation of targeted sectoral policies, as well as strengthening its position as a multidimensional African hub, Alj added.

"In order for this partnership to succeed, we must seek the complementarities that exist between our two economies, which represent, for our enterprises, bridges of growth facilitating the development of fruitful industrial collaborations," he stated.

For her part, Maria Tato, head of the delegation, stressed that this visit to Morocco aims to explore opportunities for investment and partnership, adding that the delegation will visit Dakhla to explore the high economic potential of the region.

She also described as "extremely fruitful" the meeting with the CGEM as it has examined opportunities for mutual cooperation, particularly in sectors of agribusiness, fisheries, and renewable energy in order to establish a win-win partnership between the two parties.
