The Moroccan Armed Forces have begun intensive military exercises using new electronic warfare technology, in partnership with American forces, in a desert area on the outskirts of Agadir. These exercises are part of the "Aracane Thunder 24" maneuvers that started on August 5 and will conclude on Friday, August 16.
According to the American website "Breaking Defense," the Moroccan and American forces are utilizing three types of drones and high-tech, high-altitude balloons in this training to practice detecting and pinpointing enemy radars and wireless transmitters, and then disabling them.
The same source reports that this training also involves the use of drone-mounted jamming devices to collect data and accurately identify targets for precision strikes. The American and Moroccan forces are collaborating on these exercises as part of the "Aracane Thunder" drill.
It is worth noting that this military exercise is being conducted in Morocco for the first time on the African continent, after being held last year in Romania. Therefore, it is seen as another opportunity for the Moroccan forces to develop their military capabilities and train for various combat scenarios.
Military experts point out that electronic warfare technology has become highly influential in modern warfare. As a result, armies that master and possess these tools typically have the upper hand in military confrontations, given the precise information this technology provides about the enemy and their locations.
Approximately 300 soldiers from the military forces of the United Kingdom, Germany, Morocco, and the United States are participating in the "Arcane Thunder" exercises in Morocco, along with military observers from Italy and the Czech Republic.
These maneuvers are considered among the most prominent military exercises hosted by Morocco, alongside the African Lion exercises that have been held annually in the Kingdom of Morocco for two decades. The African Lion maneuvers are the largest military exercises conducted on the African continent, with participation from the armies of many countries.
Observers note that Morocco has, in recent years, increasingly involved its forces in numerous military exercises in various countries, in addition to hosting international military maneuvers in the Kingdom. This coincides with a comprehensive strategy to modernize the military arsenal of the Moroccan army.
