Denmark stressed  the importance of the bilateral partnership with Morocco as a hub of stability and a relay for growth and development in the region and in Africa in general, noting its interest in “the Royal Initiative to promote access to the Atlantic Ocean for Sahel countries,” and convening to “carry on discussions on these initiatives concerning Africa.”

At their meeting in New York, on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, and his Danish counterpart, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, discussed the “Royal Initiative to promote access to the Atlantic Ocean for Sahel countries”, launched by King Mohammed VI in November 2023, as well as “Denmark's commitment strategy with Africa ‘Africa's Century’”, launched by the Danish government in August 2024.

In this context, Denmark “underlined the importance of the bilateral partnership with Morocco as a hub of stability and a relay for growth and development in the region and in Africa in general”.
