Gambian Minister Hails Morocco's 'Fine Model' of African Solidarity

Morocco, firmly committed to the values of mutual aid, provides "a fine example" of multilateral African solidarity, emphasized Gambian Foreign affairs minister Mamadou Tangar in Dakhla on Friday.

Speaking at the 4th annual MD Sahara Forum, Tangara said that Morocco is working relentlessly to make Africa a continent of peace, stability and prosperity, highlighting His Majesty King Mohammed VI's Initiative to enable Atlantic Ocean access for Sahel countries.

This initiative, he carried on, will play a key role in promoting African integration, while anticipating the prospects and challenges related to the African economic development, calling on beneficiary countries to adhere to this vision and transform it into a concrete action.

Africa is facing multiple challenges, hence the relevance of a working in solidarity towards a sovereign and prosperous Africa, he pointed out, recalling that during the COVID-19 pandemic, various countries demonstrated remarkable solidarity.

Referring to spiritual diplomacy, The Gambia's minister emphasized Morocco's role in spreading the values of peace and security, illustrating its dedication to strengthening intercultural and inter-religious ties within Africa.

Under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the two-day forum, organized by the Maroc Diplomatique media group, is intended as a crossroads for exchange and reflection among eminent figures from the diplomatic, economic and cultural realms.
