The Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today, Thursday, the success of King Mohammed VI's mediation in securing the release of four French citizens in Burkina Faso.
In a statement, the ministry revealed that, following the Moroccan monarch's mediation, the President of Burkina Faso, Ibrahim Traoré, agreed to release four French nationals who had been detained in Ouagadougou since December 2023.
The ministry further highlighted that this humanitarian initiative was made possible due to the "exceptional relations" between King Mohammed VI and President Traoré, as well as the "long-standing ties" between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Burkina Faso.
