AU Executive Council's 45th Ordinary Session Kicks Off in Accra with Morocco's Participation

The Executive Council of the African Union (AU) opened in Accra on Thursday its 45th ordinary session with Morocco's participation.

Morocco is represented at this session by Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita.

The Moroccan delegation includes Ambassador, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the AU and the UNECA Mohamed Arrouchi, Ambassador, Director General of the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation (AMCI) Mohamed Methqal, Morocco's Ambassador to Ghana Imane Ouaadil and Director for Greater Maghreb, AMCI and AU Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates Hassane Boukili.

During this session, foreign ministers of the AU member states will examine several reports, including that of the 48th ordinary session of the Permanent Representatives Committee (PRC) and the report on the activities of the AU's 2024 theme 'Educate an African fit for the 21st Century: Building resilient education systems for increased access to inclusive, lifelong, quality, and relevant learning in Africa'.

A number of issues will also be addressed, including AU's participation in the G20 and the African Union's partnerships. The Executive Council is also expected to adopt the AU budget for 2025.

Morocco's participation in this session will be an opportunity to promote Moroccan candidacies for important bodies of the pan-African organisation.
