Coast guards of the Moroccan Royal Navy, on maritime patrol in the Mediterranean Sea, assisted, during the weekend of 16 to 18 April, 97 would-be immigrants, mostly sub-Saharans, in difficulty on board makeshift boats, a military source said.
The rescued people, including Bangladeshis and Yemenis, received first aid on board units of the Royal Navy before being transported to the nearest ports of the Kingdom, then handed over to the Royal Gendarmerie for the usual procedures, according to the same source.
