Morocco and UK agreed to strengthen their relations under The Association Agreement, which entered into force on January 1, 2021, to preserve the bilateral partnerships between the two parties after the Brexit, notably in trade.
The British ambassador to Morocco, Martin Simon, has said that Morocco boasts huge investment opportunities in several sectors for the United Kingdom, the Moroccan news agency MAP has reported.
The same source has pointed out that Simon Martin was speaking during a webinar initiated by the British Chamber of Commerce for Morocco (BritCham) under the theme "Post-Brexit: New opportunities for the Moroccan economy?" and noted that education, agriculture and financial services are promising sectors for the Moroccan-British cooperation.
According to MAP, Simon Martin has added that Morocco, a gateway to Africa, is a special partner for the United Kingdom and vice versa, emphasizing the importance of fintech in economic development and the multiplication of future exchanges for investors.
Martin also announced the holding of an official high-level meeting under the new agreement between Morocco and the United Kingdom, which will probably occur in the coming months.
This meeting is expected to be an opportunity for Morocco and UK to discuss strengthening bilateral ties, especially in trade and investments.
