The Moroccan Minister of Economy, Finance and Administration Reform, Mohamed Benchaaboun, has expressed his trust that the Moroccan economy could rebound 'very strongly' in the second half of 2021, as quoted by the Moroccan news agency MAP.
According to the same source, the Moroccan minister who was a guest of the first edition of the event "les Matins HEC Paris Alumni Maroc" has said that the launch of the vaccination campaign in Morocco lets glimpse the light at the end of the tunnel, with promising growth prospects for the national economy in 2021.
"Morocco has received 2.5 million doses to date; other arrivals are scheduled. This vaccination campaign will, if things go as planned, overcome the situation that has prevailed so far", said Benchaaboun adding that he was convinced that from the second half of 2021, the Moroccan economy could rebound very strongly, recalling that forecasts for Morocco's growth are between 4% and 5% for 2021.
Despite these optimistic expectations, the minister didn't hide that surprises could happen, especially with these new COVID-19 strains that appear in different countries in the world.
Morocco started days ago a national vaccination campaign against the Coronavirus, and nearly 100 thousand people have already been vaccinated so far. The first categories targeted in the first days of the campaign were people in the front lines to fight the virus, such as health workers, public authorities, and the army.
