The Head of Government Saad Dine El Otmani held talks on Thursday in Rabat with the Vice president for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region at the World Bank, Ferid Belhaj, on the various aspects of the partnership between Morocco and the international financial institution.
On this occasion, El Otmani expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation between the two parties and the importance of programs, projects and major strategies launched by Morocco under this partnership with the Bretton Woods Institution, according to a release from the Head of Government's department.
The Head of Government emphasized the significant efforts made by Morocco, under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, to pursue major reforms in various fields, strengthen their pace and expand their prospects despite the constraints imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic, especially in terms of social protection.
In this regard, El Otmani said that "Morocco will experience a real revolution in the coming years."
For his part, the WB official, who is on a working visit to the Kingdom, expressed the satisfaction of the international financial institution regarding the level of "deep cooperation" with Morocco. This partnership has enjoyed new prospects in recent years, in line with the successes achieved by the national economy and the ambitious goals set by the Kingdom in several areas, he said.
Belhaj also reiterated the World Bank's keenness to continue its support at technical and financial levels alongside Morocco to achieve its ambitious reforms.
He also voiced WB's appreciation of the efficiency of the Moroccan approach in the fight against HIV/AIDS, the controlled management of the national vaccination campaign, the treatment of the socioeconomic repercussions of the pandemic as well as the Kingdom's initiatives to revitalize the national economy and prepare for the post-pandemic stage.
