Remittances sent by Moroccans living abroad reached almost 21 billion DH in Q1 2021

The Exchange Control Office has said that the remittances sent by Moroccan living abroad have reached more than 20.9 billion DH in the first quarter of the year.

The same source has noted that the rate of remittances jumped by 41.8% compared to the same period in 2020 where just 14.73 billion were recorded.

The balance of trade in services shows a surplus of 11,457 million DH (- 48.9%) in the first quarter of this year, according to the same source.

The flow of Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) in Morocco fell by 31.7% by the end of March 2021 compared to the same period the year before, the Office added.

The FDI flow amounted to 3.325 billion dirhams by the end of March, the Office added.
