Belgian official emphasizes strong ties between Morocco and Belgium

Morocco and Belgium are united by a shared past, present and future, stressed, on Friday in Rabat, minister-president of the Brussels-Capital region government, Rudi Vervoort.

In a statement to the press following his talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, Vervoort highlighted the partnership and distinguished ties uniting the two countries, as well as the solid friendship that cements their common future.

The talks covered a number of issues of common interest, including relations between Morocco and Belgium, in particular with the Brussels-Capital region, which has the largest Belgian-Moroccan diaspora in the country, he noted.

"A few months ago, we celebrated the 21st anniversary of the cooperation and partnership agreement with the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra region", he recalled, adding that exchange, cooperation and best practice programs have been set up to strengthen ties between the two regions, which are experiencing fairly similar development.
