Cape Verde’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Regional Integration, Rui Alberto de Figueiredo Soares, welcomed, here Monday, the “excellent” bilateral relations with Morocco.
In a statement to the press following his talks with Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, on the sidelines of the High-Level Ministerial Conference on Middle-Income Countries, Soares underlined that these talks essentially focused on the means to further consolidate bilateral relations.
In this regard, he hailed the ongoing development momentum in Morocco, adding that his talks with Bourita were an opportunity to discuss "the situation in our sub-region and the existing concerns that the international community shall address."
The head of Cape Verdean diplomacy also welcomed the holding, in Rabat, of the High-Level Ministerial Conference on Middle-Income Countries so that “these countries can find the necessary means to finance their development”.
Under the theme "Solutions to Address Development Challenges of Middle-Income Countries in a Changing World", this high-level Ministerial Conference is organized on the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, jointly with the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa and the United Nations Development Programme.
The Conference brings together 32 countries, including many represented at ministerial level, and 23 United Nations development agencies and other international and regional institutions.
