France’s FM Praises ‘Exemplary Partnership’ Between France, Morocco

France’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Noël Barrot praised, on Monday in Paris, France’s “exemplary partnership” of North-South cooperation with Morocco.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the first day of the Paris Peace Forum, attended by HM the King's ambassador to France, Samira Sitail, as well as political, business and civil society leaders from around the world, the French minister stressed that with Morocco “we are now looking towards a future that we have decided to build and defend together.”

“We decided together to launch a renovated partnership for the years to come, and we will make it stronger,” he said.

Barrot also called for a new cooperation approach with Africa.

“We must do more and better with Africa, because we have a long history with this great continent. Because we know we have many common challenges,” stressed the head of French diplomacy.

Themed “Wanted: A Functioning Global Order,” the 7th edition of the Paris Peace Forum featured several sessions dedicated to geopolitics, peace and conflict, including the war in Ukraine and conflicts in the Middle East and Sudan.
