Rubio, Bourita Discuss Gaza Ceasefire and Strengthening U.S.-Morocco Relations

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio engaged in a phone call with Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, emphasizing the strong partnership between the United States and Morocco, according to a statement by State Department Spokesperson Tammy Bruce.

Rubio commended Morocco’s leadership under King Mohamed VI in advancing regional and global peace and security. The discussion focused on the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, efforts to secure the release of hostages, and Morocco’s significant role in delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza.

The two officials reiterated their commitment to collaborating intensively on shared regional goals, including working toward resolving conflicts and building on the achievements of the Abraham Accords.

Rubio and Bourita also explored ways to expand bilateral trade, investment, and economic cooperation, aiming to strengthen ties and deliver mutual benefits to the people of both nations.

This call highlights the United States' recognition of Morocco's pivotal role in fostering peace and stability in the region.
