A statement by the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces reported that two soldiers, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025, succumbing to their injuries after a military patrol was deliberately rammed by a four-wheel-drive vehicle loaded with hashish. The incident occurred while the patrol was carrying out border surveillance duties in the Tagounite region.
The statement added that a third soldier was injured in the attack and is currently receiving medical treatment and care.
Following the incident, the Royal Armed Forces deployed a military helicopter to transport the bodies of the fallen soldiers to Bouzou in Azilal Province and Ain Kechour in the city of Oued Zem. The funeral ceremonies were held with an official and military presence, attended by local authorities, the Royal Gendarmerie, the Auxiliary Forces, as well as the soldiers' families and friends, who bid them farewell with deep sorrow and great pride for their sacrifices in the service of the nation.
Additionally, the relevant departments of the Royal Armed Forces provided condolences and support to the families of the deceased.
