Morocco reported that 7.4 million tourists visited the country during the first six months of 2024, marking a 14 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Tourism noted that "tourism in Morocco continues its upward trend, as evidenced by the exceptional growth recorded in the first half of 2024. The numbers speak for themselves: 7.4 million visitors crossed Moroccan borders, representing a 14 percent increase compared to 2023, and a significant 38 percent jump compared to 2019."
The same source stated that the popularity of Morocco as a destination exceeds all expectations. While the initial goals aimed to reach an additional one million tourists for the entire year of 2024, Morocco received 909,000 additional tourists in just six months.
June saw a record number of 1.5 million tourists, registering a 10 percent increase compared to 2023, and the summer season looks equally promising.
In this context, Fatima Zahra Ammor, Minister of Tourism, said that "the international prominence of Morocco as a tourist destination cannot be denied."
She added that "the unique potentials of our country, along with the implementation of our roadmap, are bearing fruit. Our goal of 17.5 million tourists is closer than ever."
