A presentation and launch ceremony of the hotel 'Pestana Tanger City Center', which will open on November 22, took place Friday evening in Lisbon.
On this occasion, the Moroccan ambassador to Portugal, Othmane Bahnini, congratulated the Pestana Group management and in particular Mr. José Roquette, Chief Development Officer, for the choice of Tangier, a mythical city deeply rich in history and symbols with a unique geographical location, the gateway to the African continent, which has inspired so many writers and painters.
The diplomat underlined that this city is experiencing, thanks to the vision of HM King Mohammed VI, a real renaissance and an extraordinary development, reinforced by a high-level infrastructure, including the Tanger Med port, the high-speed rail line and Industrial Zones.
The ambassador also welcomed the group’s commitment to Morocco, which is making its second investment and which intends to continue its expansion in other cities of the Kingdom.
As the gateway to the Strait of Gibraltar and within sight of Europe, Tangier hosts the second hotel of the Pestana group, in partnership with Inveravante, the largest multinational group of Portuguese origin, says a press release from the Moroccan diplomatic representation in Lisbon.
With this opening, the city of Tangier will host a 120-room new hotel that is located in the heart of the Tangier city center, near the Tanja Marina Bay.
