The flow of tourist arrivals in Morocco reached 12.3 million at the end of October 2023, reflecting a remarkable 39% increase compared to a year earlier, according to the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy.
This growth attests to "the remarkable resilience of Moroccan tourism despite the crises," the Ministry stressed in a press release.
Following a record September, October maintained this positive momentum, welcoming 1.2 million tourists, a 3% increase compared to October 2022, the same source said.
Quoted in the press release, the Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, said "we have just passed the 12 million visitors mark for 2023, despite the challenges encountered after the Al Haouz earthquake. These achievements reinforce our country's efforts to promote and diversify its outbound markets."
"We are on course for a record year of 14 million tourists," added the Minister, calling on the entire industry to stay the course over the next two months.
