The National Aviation Services, known as NAS, succeeded in entering 3 Moroccan international airports after signing partnerships with the National Office of Airports (ONDA), to provide services that facilitate and speed up the transit of passengers.
According to a statement by the company, the latter has introduced new electronic gates (E-Gates) in passenger lounges at Casablanca International Airport and Rabat International Airport, following the successful implementation of this innovative solution in the departure area of Marrakech-Menara Airport, which was the first of its kind in Africa.
The same source added that the state-of-the-art service solution allows guests to access the lounge directly without having to check-in at the reception. This checks of all the boxes for contactless and safe travel especially in high traffic airport lounges. All the passenger needs to do is scan a printed or digital boarding pass at the gate and enter the lounge. The gate captures the boarding pass data, checks eligibility, enters the transaction into a database for billing and reporting, and opens the gate for eligible passengers – all in less than 2 seconds. The gate also supports lounge membership cards and vouchers.
“The introduction of these e-Gates will provide contactless and quick access to the lounge, and save check-in time and manpower required, allowing lounge agents to focus on guest requirements and service excellence, as well as, increase customer satisfaction and enhance experience by reducing the time required to complete the check-in process”, the statement pointed out adding other advantages such as ensuring increased security by detecting attempts of tailgating, and integrate with the firefighting systems to take actions based on fire alerts, as well as, initiate UPS support to sustain operations during power interruptions.
NAS currently operates XX Pearl Lounges in X cities in Morocco. The e-gates are yet another initiative by NAS to bring world class facilities and services to airports in the country so that Moroccan airports supersede recognized international airports around the world.
Globally, NAS has a presence in more than 55 airports across Africa, the Middle East and South Asia, serving more than 100 airline customers and managing over 50 airport lounges. The company follows the highest international aviation standards and holds a number of global certifications including IATA’s Safety Audit for Ground Operations (ISAGO) that highlights the company’s promise of providing high quality services, with a strong focus on safety and security."
