A Ryanair staff strike over poor working conditions and low wages once again will cause heavy disruptions at Charleroi Airport in Brussels as this weekend's walkout is expected to cancel over 100 flights.
The strike, which is called for on Jan. 7-8, will likely affect some 20,000 travelers, local daily La Derniere Heure reported.
The Irish budget airline caused similar disruptions at New Year's weekend, canceling 128 flights, the report said, citing Charleroi airport CEO Philippe Verdonck.
"The figures are similar to the first three days of the strike (on Dec. 30-31 and Jan. 1), but concentrated over two days" Verdonck said. "We are therefore talking about 20,000 travelers being impacted and a good hundred flights canceled."
"We are waiting for the latest details to have exact figures," he added.
