24 PASSENGERS LOST THEIR LIVES
Mexican authorities stated that the bus, which was traveling from the southern state of Nayarit to Ciudad Juarez in the state of Chihuahua near the U.S. border, had an accident on the road. Officials reported that 24 people lost their lives in the accident and that the 5 injured individuals are receiving treatment at a hospital in Zacatecas.
BUS COLLIDED WITH TRAILER
Juan Manriquez Moreno, a national guard official in Zacatecas, stated that the trailer loaded with corn had separated from the truck on the highway and that the bus overturned after colliding with the trailer. Rodrigo Reyes Mugüerza, the Secretary General of Zacatecas State, also mentioned that the highway where the accident occurred has been closed to traffic. Mugüerza extended his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the accident.
